Flash video allstar Robert Reinhardt has just posted a neat tool for calculating FLV bitrates for both video and audio.
The widget is built in Flash and can also save out a Squeeze Project file (SQZ file) which can then be used for compression. Robert will also be adding support for Flix projects soon. Lastly if you don't want to run the SWF version you can also download Win and Mac projectors. Nice one.

Stefan, thanks for making a post about the calculator. I've added Flix (FLX) project file output as well. Note that the downloadable projectors do not offer the file export capabilities--hopefully, I'll have time over the next few weeks to port the app to AIR for offline features like file output. :)
