My friend Jan Ozer has released a very interesting article over on Streamingmedia.com. Jan covers H.264's year in review and makes some notes about it's future too. Highly recommended reading.

Thanks for the link Stefan. Jan's articles are always very helpful. We have been experimenting with H.264 for mobile and would like to encode all our videos in H.264 since it reaches more platforms than any other video format. The ambiguity and indecision on Internet royalties is a concern for us, though. That's likely the the biggest reason why overall adoption has been slower than expected. Sure wish MPEG-LA would make up their mind before 2010.
