I've just had a look onto the job board of my forums and there seem to be plenty of job requests with few or no replies. Granted, some of the jobs posted look a bit - let's say - less professional, but on the other hand there's companies like stickam posting flexible on-site and telecommute positions. But no replies. Did the developers reply directly or nor at all? I'm not sure.

Wowza and Red5 are also in heavy demand, but again with few or no replies. So if you are a developer stuck in an agency building Flash banners then ask yourself what else you could be doing...?

Another good place to promote yourself for free in front of the who's who of FMS is my mailing list, that's in case you are looking for FMS related work. Potential employers are also encouraged to post their jobs there.

The people at Mobifriends have asked me to post the following job offer:

"We are developing a new internet and mobile social network service. http://www.mobifriends.com

We have been working with one company to develop the VideoChat of Mobifriends.

They have done the first phase of the development, but now we have to do the second phase of the development, but they are busy with other issues and they have given to us the sourcecode. We contacted some developers, but they are busy until January, and the project is already delayed and we cannot wait until then.

The second phase should take around two weeks.

We are looking for a professional Flash media server developer with a very good knowledge of Flash, Flash Media Server and Action Script 2, with experience writing multi-user multiple-rooms Videochat applications.

Although now we need to finish the VideoChat, we would carry on improving the service. If we work well, we will have more works to be done in the near future.

If you are available to start now with our project, and you could prepare a close budget and schedule estimation for the second phase, please contact us at jobs DOT fms AT mobifriends DOT com and we will provide you more detailed information."

I've recently done some video work for the guys at CNET UK and this may be the reason they've just sent over this job posting. So if you fancy yourself as a (junior) Multimedia Systems Admin and have a good knowledge of Flash and Flash Video (plus a few other skills) then drop my man Chris an email: chris[dot]beaumont[at]cnet.com
I presume that the job location is at CNET UK's offices at International House in Central London, right next door to Tower Bridge.
