Influxis are now offering hosting for the full version of FMIS 3 on their website, and have upgraded their plans' specs accordingly. They have also introduced a new tier of shared hosting plans called Enterprise for contract-free , large scale needs featuring resources just shy of going to a full dedicated environment. Any current customers who are on a FMS 2 account, can request to upgrade their account to FMIS 3 for free.
Customers also get access to a variety of turn-key applications, including the newest TV station application, and you can fined the admin demo here.

In a move that may send some warnings signs in Adobe's direction, NetMasters, a company that delivers high-end services for Flash video on-demand audio/video streaming, live webcasts and other rich media productions, today announced that it is adding Wowza Media Server to its service offering.
As some of my readers may know, Wowza Media Server is a Flash video compatible streaming server which utilizes the same RTMP protocol as Adobe's Flash Media Server, making its output consumable by the Flash Player and which offers true streaming capabilities. The Wowza platform can appear to be a lower priced alternative to FMS, although I am not sure how a feature by feature comparison between the two platforms stacks up. NetMasters has obviously made good experiences with Wowza and is now offering it as a cost-effective solution alongside Adobe FMS.
The full press release can be downloaded here (PDF).

Disclosure: NetMasters and Wowza are advertising partners of this website

Influxis are now able to offer Flash Media Server hosting to their existing and new customers. The company has also revamped their customer portal and added many new features, making application setup even easier than before. Real time bandwidth reports, instant account activation and a neat stream previewer are just some of the features available. I am hosting several applications at Influxis and have only got good things to say about them. Even when we needed features that were a little bit out of the ordinary they accommodated our wishes and couldn't do enough to help.

Speedera's acquisition process by Akamai is complete and the company is now operating under the single brand of Akamai. You can find out more about Akamai's streaming services by following this link.

Vitalstream are now offering dedicated Flashcom hosting - not only Flash Video Services but 'real' Flashcom Application Servers. Maybe I am a bit slow to catch up on this but I didn't know that this service was available.
Two different managed servers are available on Windows 2000, you can find an overview here. The Professional License costs a whopping $4,698.95 just to get started as the Flashcom License appears to be owned by the customer and not Vitalstream.
I am wondering if other CDN's will follow this example, broadening their Flashcom Hosting Services to more than just Flash Video - shared hosting anyone?
One thing I noticed is the way they describe the bandwidth allowance for these machines: monthly bandwidth is either 1Mbps or 10Mbps. Obviously that does not make any sense (how can monthly bandwidth be measured in bits per second, shouldn't that be throughput?) and demonstrates that even the big boys are having trouble understanding Macromedia's Flashcom Licensing Model. Somehow the figures suggest that this may be an unmetered server but I doubt it.
